A BOLT JR. collaborated with AMBEV in developing a noise muffler aimed at inhibiting environmental noise and enabling internal communication among employees.

PROBLEM

AMBEV, a prominent brewery in our country with a vision to bring people together for a better world, prioritizes continuous improvement of its activities and processes. In order to protect its workers and maintain excellence in processes, there was a need to develop a new hearing protection device. The current muffler was not completely effective due to an excessive noise load. Additionally, the company requested that the new device include an internal communication system to facilitate dialogue among employees in the same area.

SOLUTION

AMBEV aimed to develop personal protective equipment (PPE) with an effectiveness of 90% or more in noise reduction and an internal communication system. We conducted a study of viable materials, communicator layout, researched communication systems, and active noise cancellation, in collaboration with the company Imple Consultoria Jr. Finally, we modeled the device, as shown in the figure below, and simulated the material to ensure reliability.

As a result, we achieved effective noise reduction, improving the health, safety, and comfort of the workers.
